Ally Martell

Ally grew up in a family that shared fabulous and hilarious stories around the Sunday roast. With this love of storytelling in her DNA, she dreamt of being a writer. After many years in PR and marketing, she finally found her storytelling job and considers herself very spoilt in the features department of News Limited in Toowoomba.

Married to a local dentist/mountain biker, Ally is a member of the QCWA and a volunteer on Radio 92.9FM. She has two adult children who don’t visit nearly enough.

Ally is currently working on the biography of Gladys Baker who helped save 240 Australian soldiers and civilians escaping from the Japanese in PNG in 1942.
